A Pomodoro timer with a pet that keeps you company
Pawse turns the classic Pomodoro technique into something you look forward to. Start a focus session and the countdown sits right under your desktop pet. When it ends, your pet offers a break, and when the break ends, it's ready to go again.
Free for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows. No ads, no subscription.
How it works
- 1
Start a session
From Settings > Breaks or the menu bar icon. Choose 15, 25, 45 or 60 minutes of focus.
- 2
Work while your pet keeps time
The countdown shows under your pet and in the menu bar on macOS. Pause, resume or skip any time.
- 3
Take the break
A card offers a 5, 10 or 15 minute break, with a longer break after every four sessions.
Built for real workdays
- Breaks that refresh you
- Your break doubles as a stretch break, so the stretch reminder never interrupts a focus session.
- Never lose your place
- The timer runs on the real clock, so closing the lid or restarting doesn't lose your session.
- Gentle, not naggy
- Cards appear beside your pet without stealing focus. Focus timer cards still show in quiet mode, because you started that timer yourself.
See your focus add up
Settings > Progress shows today's focus minutes, keystrokes and top typing speed, plus a 7-day chart. Every finished session earns 150 paws, and paws fill gift boxes with one of 38 collectible hats for your pet.
Pawse only counts keystrokes to animate your pet. It never records what you type, and your stats stay on your computer.
