A cute desktop pet for Windows
Pawse gives your Windows desktop a tiny anime companion. Choose a cat, dog, panda, hamster, Shiba Inu, kitsune, bunny or red panda. It follows your cursor, reacts while you type, and stays out of the way: clicks pass through it until you hover to pick it up.
Free for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows. No ads, no subscription.
In short
Pawse is a free desktop pet for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit): a small anime pet that lives on your screen and in the system tray. It follows your cursor, taps along as you type, celebrates when Claude Code, Codex or Cursor finishes a task and reminds you to stretch. It runs offline, with no ads and no account needed to run.
How it works
- 1

A free .exe for 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
- 2

Pawse isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may appear. Click More info > Run anyway.
- 3
Meet your pet
It appears on your desktop and in the system tray. Right-click the pet or the tray icon for Settings.
Built for the Windows desktop
- Lives in the system tray
- Switch pets, start the focus timer, stretch now, open gift boxes or turn on quiet mode from the tray menu.
- Always on top, never in the way
- The pet floats above your windows but lets clicks through until you hover it. Drag it anywhere and it remembers the spot.
- Works with your AI agents
- Claude Code and Codex are followed automatically from their session files, and Cursor connects with one switch in Settings.
- Survives sleep and restarts
- Breaks, reminders and the focus timer run on the real clock.
More than a mascot
Pawse reminds you to stretch every 30 to 90 minutes with a one minute guided routine, runs a Pomodoro timer whose countdown shows under your pet, and lets you set your own reminders. Typing, petting, stretches and finished focus sessions earn paws toward gift boxes with 38 collectible hats.
It is private by design: it counts keystrokes only to animate your pet, never records which keys, and has no telemetry.
