For Claude Code, Codex and Cursor

Know the moment Claude Code finishes

Long agent tasks are the perfect time for a coffee or another tab, and then you forget to check back. Pawse puts a small anime pet on your screen that cheers while Claude Code works and celebrates the second the task is done.

Free for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows. No ads, no subscription.

How it works

  1. 1

    Install Pawse

Free for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows. It lives in your menu bar or system tray.

  2. 2

    Run Claude Code as usual

Pawse follows Claude Code's session files on your computer, so there is nothing to set up and no API key.

  3. 3

    Watch your pet

It cheers while a task runs and celebrates when it finishes. An interrupted task ends quietly, without a party.

Works with the agents you already use

Claude Code
Automatic. Pawse follows the session transcripts in ~/.claude/projects.
Codex
Automatic. Pawse follows the session logs in ~/.codex/sessions.
Cursor
One switch in Settings > Agents. Pawse adds a small hook to ~/.cursor/hooks.json, keeps your own hooks and saves a backup.
Anything else
Call the hook script from your own tool: ~/.pawse/hooks/pawse-hook.sh mytool start, then stop when it's done.

Why a pet instead of another notification?

A pop-up is easy to miss and easy to dismiss without reading. A pet in the corner of your screen sits in your peripheral vision: you notice the celebration without switching windows, even when your editor is full screen.

Each agent session is tracked on its own, so several Claude Code or Codex tasks at once work fine. Settings shows every agent's live status, and a Try it button plays a pretend task so you can see the celebration right away.

Private by design

Pawse only reads whether a session is working or finished. It never uploads your code, prompts or transcripts, and it doesn't need an account. Finished agent tasks also earn paws toward gift boxes with collectible hats for your pet.

Questions

Do I need an API key or a Claude account setting?

No. Pawse reads the session files Claude Code already writes on your computer. Install it and it works.

Does it work with several Claude Code sessions at once?

Yes. Each session is tracked separately, and the pet celebrates when each task finishes.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes. Pawse runs on macOS (Apple Silicon) and 64-bit Windows, and the agent detection works on both.

Can I try it without running a real task?

Yes. Open Settings > Agents and press Test: your pet works for a few seconds, then celebrates.

Is it free?

Yes. Pawse is free, with no ads and no subscription.
